The 15th sacred site of the Saigoku Sanjusan-sho pilgrimage, a Shingon Sennyuji-ha temple founded by Kobo Daishi in 811. Known as the \'Head Kannon,\' it is revered for granting relief from headaches and bestowing wisdom, famously associated with Retired Emperor Go-Shirakawa\'s prayers for headache relief. A sub-temple of Sennyuji, its mountain-shrouded precincts are wrapped in deep tranquility.
