Overview
Shoin Shrine enshrines Yoshida Shoin, the Bakumatsu-era thinker. The Shoka Sonjuku academy still stands in the grounds, conveying the educational spirit of Shoin who nurtured Meiji Restoration leaders including Takasugi Shinsaku and Ito Hirobumi. A sacred site in Hagi.

Shoin Shrine is dedicated to Yoshida Shoin (1830–1859), a prominent thinker and educator of the late Edo period.
