Daishoin is the Rinzai Zen temple that served as the family temple of the Mori clan of Choshu, holding the tombs of the founding lord Mori Hidenari and even-numbered successors. About 600 stone lanterns donated by retainers stand before the tombs, lit each August 13 for the Mantoe festival.
