概要
Koyasan Okunoin is Japan's most sacred Buddhist site, containing the mausoleum of Kobo Daishi Kukai, who entered eternal meditation in 835. The 2-km approach is lined with 200,000 tombs and monuments among 1000-year-old cedars, including memorials to warlords from Nobunaga to Ieyasu. A core UNESCO World Heritage site.
