The burial site of Minamoto no Yoritomo, founder of the Kamakura shogunate, who died suddenly in 1199 at age 53. Located in Nishimikado, the present five-ring stone tower (gorinto) was erected in the Edo period by Shimazu Shigehide, lord of the Satsuma domain.
