Overview
Yamaguchi Daijingu was founded in 1520 by Ouchi Yoshioki with imperial approval, enshrining the deities of Ise Grand Shrine. Known as the Western Ise, it is the oldest branch shrine of Ise west of Kyoto and uniquely maintains both Inner and Outer Shrine structures with a 20-year rebuilding cycle.
