Toshunji is the Rinzai Zen temple founded to pray for the repose of the warlord Mori Motonari. Relocated to Yamaguchi in 1598 when the Mori moved to Choshu, it preserves the Muromachi-era gate originally from the Ouchi family's Kokuseiji, now an Important Cultural Property.
