During the Tensho era (1573-1592), Oda Nobukatsu, second son of Nobunaga, relocated the temple to Kiyosu Kitaichi-ba to mourn his father and renamed it Sokenji after the Sokenji at the foot of Azuchi Castle built by Nobunaga himself—thereafter serving as the Oda family funerary temple (note: Nobukatsu, not the third son Nobutaka, was the patron). The temple preserves nine Aichi Prefectural Cultural Properties (a Nobunaga portrait scroll and ceramics) and one city-designated item.
