概要
The Naiku (Kotai Jingu), heart of Ise Jingu, enshrines Amaterasu Omikami on the Isuzu River. Founded about 2,000 years ago, the Shikinen Sengu — rebuilding every 20 years — has continued 1,300+ years. The 500-cedar approach leads to the Goshoden, preserving the ancient Shinmei-zukuri style regarded as the origin of Japanese architecture.
由緒
垂仁天皇の御代に現在地に鎮座したと伝わる（『日本書紀』）。持統天皇4年（690年）に式年遷宮が始まり、以来20年ごとに社殿の建て替えが行われている。明治以降は神宮司庁が管轄し、日本の神社本庁の頂点に位置する。2013年には第62回式年遷宮が斎行された。
