An ancient Shingon Buddhist temple known as the family temple of the Asano clan, lords of Hiroshima domain. Located at the eastern foot of Futabayama, it houses the principal image of Kokuzo Bosatsu and contains the graves of successive Asano domain lords, making it a key site of Hiroshima's early modern history.
