概要
A Tenmangu shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, located at the foot of Futabayama north of Hiroshima Station. Revered by students for academic success, the shrine was said to have been rebuilt by Mori Terumoto in 1581 and flourished alongside the growth of Hiroshima castle town.
由緒
1581年毛利輝元が再建と伝わる。広島城下の学問の神として歴代藩主の崇敬を受け、近代以降も受験生の参拝が絶えない。

The 1581 reconstruction by Mori Terumoto was made possible by the regional dominance established by his grandfather Mori Motonari. Because Motonari had unified the Chugoku region from Koriyama Castle, Terumoto was able to develop the Hiroshima castle town, including this shrine.
