A distinguished Jodo sect temple named after the renowned Edo-period monk Yuten Shonin, famous for pacifying vengeful spirits through nenbutsu. Founded in 1718 by his disciple Yukai. The main hall and Nio gate are designated cultural properties. The temple lent its name to the nearby Tokyu railway station.
Founded in 1718 by Yukai, disciple of Yuten Shonin who served as the 36th head priest of Zojoji. Yuten was revered by the Tokugawa shoguns and famous for pacifying the ghost of Kasane-ga-fuchi. The temple remains an important Jodo institution.
