概要
A Soto Zen temple at the center of Sugamo Jizo-dori, known nationwide for its Enmei Jizo (Togenuki Jizo) principal image. Queues form daily to wash the Arai Kannon statue, believed to heal whatever body part is rubbed. Fair days on the 4th, 14th, and 24th of each month are especially lively.

Sugamo Togenuki Jizo New Year Visit
New Year visit to Togenuki Jizo at Koganji in Sugamo, known as the "Grandma's Harajuku." Famous for its power to heal illness and grant longevity, it attracts many visitors from New Year onwards. The Jizo-dori shopping street is decorated with New Year ornaments.
