概要
Shitaya Shrine, founded in 718 CE, is one of Tokyo's oldest Inari shrines. Famous as the birthplace of yose (rakugo storytelling venues), it holds a major festival every May that enlivens the Ueno-Okachimachi area.
由緒
One of Tokyo's oldest Inari shrines, founded in 730 (Tenpyo 2). In 1798, Sanshoutei Karaku opened the first yose performance here — the birthplace of rakugo. The ceiling painting is by Yokoyama Taikan.
