概要
A gokoku shrine founded in 1868 by imperial decree of Emperor Meiji. A sacred site enshrining 1,356 Restoration patriots, where the graves of Sakamoto Ryoma and Nakaoka Shintaro stand side by side. The Ryoma Festival on November 15th draws pilgrims from across Japan. Located on a high platform in Higashiyama, it also offers a magnificent panoramic view of Kyoto below.
