Nagaoka Tenmangu
Founded in 903, the year of Michizane's death, at the place he called his 'second hometown'; the府社enshrines his personal effects, and in late April 170-year-old Kirishima azaleas frame the Hachijo-ike pond (constructed 1638) in spectacular crimson bloom.
