A shrine founded in 1869 by imperial command of Emperor Meiji on Mt. Funaoka, enshrining Oda Nobunaga. Oda Nobunaga, the deity enshrined at Kenkun Shrine, was forced to take his own life in 1582 during the Honno-ji Incident, staged by his own retainer Akechi Mitsuhide. Mitsuhide had served Nobunaga loyally, earning distinction for pacifying Tanba Province, yet he is remembered in history as the man who ultimately killed his lord.

On the annual festival of October 19, matchlock musket demonstrations are held in his memory.
