A shrine founded in 1869 by imperial command of Emperor Meiji on Mt. Funaoka, enshrining Oda Nobunaga. Nobunaga was the hero who ended the Ashikaga shogunate under the banner of "Tenka Fubu" (unification of the realm by force) and laid the foundations of early modern Japan.
