A Jodo Sect temple in the historic Reizenmachi neighborhood of Hakata. The area preserves the character of Hakata's old temple district, and the temple is said to have been visited by samurai lords passing through on their way to Nagoya Castle during Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Korean campaigns.
