概要
A historic site in Yokohama Chinatown, the base of Sun Yat-sen, father of the Chinese Revolution. After the failed 1895 Guangzhou uprising, Sun exiled himself to Yokohama and delivered revolutionary speeches to overseas Chinese at the Chinese Assembly Hall in Yamashita-cho, recruiting comrades. Yokohama was Sun's 'second hometown,' and the site is now a park preserving its historical significance.
由緒
After the failed 1895 Guangzhou uprising, Sun fled to Japan and established his base in Yokohama. The Chinese Assembly Hall was the center of overseas Chinese activities. Even after the Tongmenghui was formed in Tokyo in 1905, Yokohama remained crucial for fundraising.
