The headquarters of Urasenke, one of the Three Sen Schools. Named 'Urasenke' because Senso Soshitsu, the fourth son of Sen Sotan, inherited the residence at the rear (ura) of the Senke compound behind Omotesenke. Founded when Sen Sotan passed the rear tea room "Konnichi-an" to his fourth son Senso Soshitsu. The name comes from a Zen saying about not waiting for tomorrow.
