概要
Originating from a 2.4m koshin-to monument erected in 1502 at the junction of the Nakasendo and Oji roads. A popular rest stop for Edo-period travelers. After the monument shattered in 1657, it was buried and rebuilt. In early Meiji, the travel guide deity Sarutahiko was enshrined from Saruta Shrine in Choshi.
