Takeda Hachimangu was the tutelary shrine of the Takeda clan, revered by generations of the family including Shingen himself. Prayers for victory in battle before the god Hachiman were an essential ritual, and this shrine stood as one of the spiritual pillars of the Takeda military machine. The main hall, designated an Important Cultural Property, survives as a testament to the clan's centuries of devoted patronage.
