Daimanji Kokuzodo, atop Mt. Kokuzo in southern Sendai, enshrines the bodhisattva Kokuzo, guardian of those born in the years of the Ox and Tiger. Pilgrims throng at New Year, and the temple offers sweeping views over Sendai from the Daineji hill.

Daimanji Kokuzodo is a Soto Zen temple located on Mt. Kokuzo (Daineji-yama) in the Mukaiyama district of Taihaku Ward, Sendai.
