One of the five Tendai monzeki temples, renowned for the moss-covered garden Yuseien and the Ojo Gokuraku-in hall. A secluded monzeki temple nestled in the mountain village of Ohara, where seasonal natural beauty soothes visitors.
Origins
Originating from the Enyubo hall that Saicho established on Mt. Hiei during the Enryaku era (782-806). As the Kajii Monzeki, successive imperial family members served as head priests.
