概要
A Tenjin shrine in Kameido founded in 1662 modeled after Dazaifu Tenmangu. Enshrines Sugawara no Michizane as the god of learning, popular with students. Renowned for wisteria: about 50 wisteria trellises bloom in full glory during the Wisteria Festival in April–May, drawing large crowds. A landmark of shitamachi (downtown Tokyo) also depicted in Hiroshige's Meisho Edo Hyakkei woodblock prints.
