由緒
An ancient temple said to have been founded by Gyoki in the Nara period. Built in the likeness of Hasedera in Nara, with the Juichimen Kanzeon Bosatsu as its principal deity. Developed as a Shingon temple in the medieval period and flourished as the center of Kannon worship on Sado.
