Enryakuji Yokawa, in Sakamoto-Honmachi, Otsu City, Shiga, is the northernmost of the three pagoda compounds (Toto, Saito, Yokawa) of the great Tendai head temple Enryaku-ji on Mt. Hiei. Origins
Enryakuji Yokawa originated when the 3rd Tendai abbot Ennin (Jikaku Daishi) trained in the northern valley of Mt. Hiei during the Tencho era (824-834) and built the Shuryogon-in.
