Overview
Yuzuki Castle was the stronghold of the Kono clan of Iyo Province for about 200 years, falling to Chosokabe Motochika in 1585. Now Dogo Park, it is a nationally designated historic site with well-preserved double moats and earthworks, and excavations have confirmed medieval building remains.

In 1585, Hideyoshi's Shikoku Conquest reached Iyo Province, and Chōsokabe Motochika captured Yuzuki Castle. The Kōno clan, which had ruled Iyo for roughly two centuries, was destroyed, and the castle was abandoned. Hideyoshi's drive to unify Japan brought the history of this medieval stronghold to its end.

Dogo Park (Yuzuki Castle ruins) itself is open at all times with no closed days. The on-site exhibition facilities are open 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, closed Mondays (following day if a holiday) and Dec 29–Jan 3.
