概要
Goso Shrine is the chief tutelary shrine of Yugawara, enshrining five deities including Amaterasu and Susanoo. A camphor tree over 800 years old — designated a Natural Monument of Kanagawa Prefecture — stands in the grounds. Local legend holds that Minamoto no Yoritomo's ally Doi Sanehira prayed here for victory during the Battle of Ishibashiyama in 1180.
