Manganji in Tochigi City's Izuru district is the 17th sacred site of the Bando 33 Kannon Pilgrimage.\nThe inner sanctuary's stalactite cave features a stalactite formation resembling an eleven-faced Kannon, called Cave Kannon.\nThe naturally formed Kannon figure stands approximately 4m tall, filled with mystical spiritual energy.\nA renowned Shingon temple said to have been founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai, with over 1,200 years of history.\nThe main hall is an Edo-period building, welcoming worshippers with its dignified presence.\nThe clear Izuru River flowing through the grounds and surrounding mountains form a beautiful valley.\nAutumn foliage dyes the entire Izuru Valley in brocade, known as one of Kanto's premier foliage spots.\nIn winter, soba restaurants known for Izuru soba dot the surroundings, popular as a gourmet destination.\nThe path to the inner sanctuary is a steep mountain trail, allowing visitors to experience ascetic rigors.\nAs an important sacred site of the Bando 33 Kannon Pilgrimage, many pilgrims still visit.
