概要
Takkoku Bishamondo was founded in 801 by Sakanoue no Tamuramaro after his victorious campaigns against the Emishi, dedicated to Bishamonten. The hall clings to a dramatic cliff face and preserves a Heian-era cliff-carved Buddha. It was revered by the Fujiwara lords of Hiraizumi.
