A Tenmangu shrine in Shiraoka City, enshrining Sugawara no Michizane as the deity of learning and well known for blessings of exam success and academic achievement. During exam season the precinct fills with the prayers of students and their families offering ema votive tablets.

Shiraoka Tenmangu is traditionally said to have been founded in 1680 (the 8th year of the Enpō era).
