A Tenmangu shrine in Satte City enshrining Sugawara no Michizane, god of learning, and known for blessings of exam success and academic achievement. Satte flourished as a post town on the Nikko Kaido in the Edo period, and this shrine has protected the education of local children within that post-town culture.
