Hourinji Temple in Otawara City's Sarado district is a renowned Tendai temple with the mountain name Komaruyama.
The principal Fudo Myoo has proven power for warding off evil, affectionately known as Sarado's Fudo.

Hourinji was founded during the Tencho era (824-834), said to have been established by Jikaku Daishi Ennin.
Ennin is said to have enshrined Fudo Myoo here while traveling through the Nasu region.
