An ancient shrine in Numata enshrining Takeminakata-no-Mikoto, transferred from the grand Suwa Taisha of Shinano province. Numata was a vital post on the Mikuni Kaido connecting Shinano and Kozuke, and Suwa faith spread along this highway.
