小牧・長久手の戦い
1584年(天正12年)、尾張国小牧・長久手(現在の愛知県小牧市・長久手市)において、羽柴秀吉軍と徳川家康・織田信雄連合軍が激突した戦い。局地戦では家康軍が秀吉の別働隊を長久手で破る大勝を収めたが、戦局全体では秀吉が優勢であった。最終的には信雄が秀吉と単独講和し、家康も孤立を避けて戦線を離脱。軍事的には引き分けながら政治的には秀吉が優位を保つ形で決着した。この戦いは家康が秀吉と直接対峙した唯一の戦いであり、両者の力量が拮抗していたことを示す重要な合戦として位置づけられる。
