Mito Kairakuen Plum Blossom Festival
A plum blossom festival at Kairakuen, one of Japan's three great gardens. About 3,000 plum trees of 100 varieties bloom, coloring Ibaraki in early spring. The nighttime illumination event draws about 1 million visitors.
