Site of the legendary 47 Ronin raid on December 14, 1702. The masterless samurai led by Oishi Kuranosuke avenged their lord Asano Takuminokami by attacking the residence of Kira Kozukenosuke here. Now a small park with a layout map of the original estate and stone statues of the 47 ronin. The annual Gishi-sai memorial on December 14 draws Chushingura fans from across Japan. 由緒
Scene of the famous 47 Ronin raid in 1703. The Kira estate covered approximately 2,550 tsubo with a grand gate, study, and inner chambers. After the raid, the estate was demolished. In 1934, local volunteers established it as Honjo Matsuzaka-cho Park.
