Iwaseo Hachimangu in Takamatsu City is the guardian shrine of Takamatsu, founded in 918. Revered by the Matsudaira clan and today's Takamatsu citizens as "Hachiman-san." The grounds hold the Iwaseoyama Kofun Group, a 4th-century National Historic Site documenting ancient Sanuki. Its autumn festival is a local highlight.
