Origins
Known as a temple that Rennyo Shonin used as a base for his proselytizing activities in Etchu Province. It functioned as one of the spiritual centers of the Ikko Ikki uprisings, and even under the rule of the Kaga domain it continued to play an important role as a center of Jodo Shinshu faith.
