The area around Jionji in Sagae, Dewa Province, became the domain of the Sagae Oe clan, descended from Oe no Hiromoto's son Chikahiro. After the Jokyu War, members of the Oe clan came to this region as estate stewards and governed Sagae into the Sengoku period. Jionji, an ancient temple of note in the Tohoku region, enjoyed the patronage of the Oe, attesting to how the bloodline of the shogunal elder Oe no Hiromoto took root far away in Dewa.
