Todo Takatora began a major reconstruction of Iga Ueno Castle in 1608 after being granted the Iga and Ise domains. He built the 'tallest stone wall in Japan,' exceeding 30 metres, turning it into a formidable fortress and showcasing the pinnacle of his castle-building technique. Although the tower collapsed in a storm in 1612 and was never rebuilt, this stone wall still stands as a masterpiece embodying the reason Takatora is called the 'master of castle construction.'

A renowned Iga castle built in 1585 by Tsutsui Sadatsugu on the order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, later remodeled by Todo Takatora, famed for its stone walls over 30 meters tall.
