Himure Hachimangu is the guardian shrine of Omihachiman, said to have been founded in 131 under Emperor Ojin. Moved to its present site in 1585 when Toyotomi Hidetsugu built Hachimanyama Castle, the shrine hosts the Sagicho Fire Festival and Hachiman Festival, both Important Intangible Folk Cultural Properties.
