A shrine just south of Himeji Castle, enshrining 56,988 war dead from the western Harima region. Founded in 1893 after the Sino-Japanese War. The precincts feature cherry trees with the castle as backdrop, and the annual Himeji Castle Takigi Noh torchlight Noh performance is held here each October.
