Overview
The 86th sacred site of the Shikoku 88 pilgrimage in Sanuki City. Said to have been organized by Fujiwara no Fuhito (645-720) and famed for the legend of an ama diver who died retrieving a sacred jewel from the Dragon Palace. The Important Cultural Property five-story pagoda and solemn halls befit a great Sanuki temple. Five minutes on foot from Kotoden Shido Station.

Shido-ji is an ancient temple said to have been founded in 659 CE (the 5th year of Empress Saimei's reign) by Fujiwara no Fuhito, son of Fujiwara no Kamatari.
