A sacred site in Tosa established by Kobo Daishi in gratitude for having received the deepest mysteries of esoteric Buddhism from the monk Huiguo at Qinglong Temple in Chang'an, Tang China, and named after that temple. Qinglong Temple in Chang'an, Tang China, was the sacred ground where Kobo Daishi attained the innermost secrets of esoteric Buddhism, and the deep gratitude of the Daishi toward his teacher—who recreated a site connected to that place here by the sea of Tosa upon his return to Japan—pervades the precincts.
