The 34th temple of the Shikoku 88 pilgrimage in Haruno-cho, Kochi. Legend holds Kukai sowed five cereal grains brought from Tang China here, giving the temple its name. Enshrining Yakushi Nyorai, it is celebrated for safe-childbirth blessings. The kaidan-meguri walk through the statue's pedestal is a popular spiritual experience amid the tranquil Niyodo River basin countryside.
