Gujo Hachiman Castle stands atop a low mountain in Gujo City, Gifu Prefecture. It was originally built as a mountain castle in 1559 (Eiroku 2) by Endo Morikazu. Built in 1559 (Eiroku 2) by Endo Morikazu. During the Edo period, the Inoue, Kanamori, and Aoyama clans successively served as castle lords, and the castle also became the stage for the Gujo Uprising of 1754.
