Founded in 1313 (Showa 2) by Muso Soseki. During the Nanbokucho period, the temple flourished under the patronage of the Toki clan and close attendants of Emperor Go-Daigo. It preserves two National Treasure buildings and a Place of Scenic Beauty garden to this day.
