Daishokatsugunjin is one of the Three Taishi Temples of Kawachi, founded in 587 where Prince Shotoku defeated Mononobe no Moriya — Japan's first victory shrine. A statue of Prince Shotoku stands in the grounds, and the Nyoirin Kannon is a key artifact of early Japanese Buddhist art.
